We welcomed the government’s consultation on ‘Strengthening consumer redress in the housing market’ and support the proposal to improve consumer access to redress across the housing and property sector.

We welcomed the government’s consultation on ‘Strengthening consumer redress in the housing market’ and support the proposal to improve consumer access to redress across the housing and property sector.

Our response to the consultation highlights that we favour a simplification of the private sector redress scheme and closer working between our service and a single private sector ombudsman. We consider that a shared single point of access for customers through a common portal offers the most attractive and cost-effective way forward.
