Landlord forums

What are the Housing Ombudsman Service landlord forums?

Our landlord forums are an exciting opportunity for member landlords to be involved in the development of our service.

Landlords can use these forums to provide feedback on their own experiences of the complaints process and help us understand the challenges facing them.

Who can attend?

You must be a member of the Housing Ombudsman Scheme. This means social housing landlords operating in England, or voluntary members.

What do the forums do?

1. Share your experiences

Delegates tell us about their experiences to help us identify areas where services can be improved and help us make sure landlords are at the centre of our work.

2. Shape our service

Forum delegates have their say through direct discussions with the Ombudsman and give landlords an opportunity to co-design new processes.

3. Learn more about the Housing Ombudsman Service

Hear about the work we are doing to improve complaint handling and how it will positively impact landlords and residents.

4. Talk to others

Share experiences with other landlords, learn from their approaches, and build networks across the social housing sector.

5. Continue the conversation

All forum delegates have access to Landlord Connect, our digital community exclusively for landlord forum delegates to continue discussions, share insights, and stay connected between meetings.

How do the forums work?

We host 3 different forums to reflect the different types of social housing providers:

  • local authority landlords
  • landlords managing more than 1,000 homes
  • landlords managing less than 1,000 homes

Each forum meets 3 times a year in 90-minute online sessions.

Forum members are invited to attend meetings to discuss our approach. This will include collaborating on new processes and having a say in key projects.

There are opportunities for discussion and to raise topics and questions that matter most to your organisation.

Between meetings, you can continue the conversation through Landlord Connect, our digital platform. Delegates can access resources, share experiences, and talk with others in an exclusive landlord forum community.

We will never discuss individual cases at a forum meeting or on Landlord Connect.
