MRC Connect: Awaab’s Law Phase 2

Audience: Member Responsible for Complaints

From 30 November 2026, 7 new hazards will be covered by Awaab’s Law. Phase 1 of the law, which came into effect on 27 October 2025, focused on damp, mould, and emergency repairs. Social landlords are required to fix any reported hazards covered by the law within strict timeframes. The 7 new hazards are excess cold, excess heat, falls, structural collapse, fire and explosions, electrical hazards, and domestic hygiene.  

Join us in conversation with Head of Casework Excellence & Development Mark Smart, Dispute Resolution Manager Steven Parfitt, and the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government about what these changes mean from an MRC perspective. 

There will be a Q&A opportunity at the end of this session.
