MRC Connect: Awaab’s Law Phase 2

From 30 November 2026, 7 new hazards will be covered by Awaab’s Law. Phase 1 of the law, which came into effect on 27 October 2025, focused on damp, mould and emergency repairs. Social landlords are required to fix any reported hazards covered by the law within strict timeframes. The 7 new hazards are excess cold, excess heat, falls, structural collapse, fire and explosions, electrical hazards, and domestic hygiene.
