Member Responsible for Complaints conference – Registrations closed

Audience: Member Responsible for Complaints

Following the success of last years’ event, we are excited to announce registrations are open to secure your place at the 2024 Member Responsible for Complaints conference which will take place in Central Manchester on Thursday 7 November 2024.

The event is free to attend and will run from 9:30am to 3.30pm

Hosted by the Centre for Learning, the focus of this years’ event is embedding a positive complaints culture in your organisation and how the statutory Complaint Handling Code acts as the gold standard to promote learning from complaints.

What’s on?

We have an exciting agenda lined up for the day! At the event you will:

    • hear from landlords who have undergone special investigations into their complaint services share their learning from the findings
    • find out the most effective way to self-assess against the statutory Complaint Handling Code to demonstrate compliance
    • attend workshops on managing effective service during organisational change through mergers and ALMOs
    • hear directly from the Ombudsman and its team about the findings of our Annual Complaints Review
    • take part in complaint handling workshops with our Centre for Learning on applying the Ombudsman’s dispute resolution principles in complaint handling
    • network with other members

The role of a MRC

The expectation is that the MRC is responsible for ensuring that complaint handling drives service improvement for residents and learning and business improvement for the organisation.

The role of the MRC is to champion a positive complaint handling culture and build effective relationships with complaints teams, residents, its audit and risk committees as well wider teams and the Housing Ombudsman Service.
